A Miscellaneous Selection

Our chart plotter shows our June 20th crossing from Canadian waters into US waters.

Yay!

At home, Peter enjoys drinking coffee brewed from beans that he roasts himself. Three and a half months is a long time to go without that special flavour. For our trip, we borrowed a portable roaster (thank you Joe) to bring along with us and every two weeks Peter roasts coffee beans on the dock.

This machine roast about 100 grams at a time. Peter roasts 400 grams every couple weeks. The beans produce lots of chaff and smoke so it's best done on the dock rather than on the boat.

We saw this sign in a neighbouring boat's window. Are they sending us a message?

This 10,000 year old gift from a glacier floated close enough to be considered an offering. There's plenty here to harvest a few Bergie Bits considering that 90% of the ice is underwater.

A hammer is all that's required to harvest the Bergie Bits.

They say glacier ice brings out the botanical notes in a fine gin.

Glaciers are big things and Bergie Bits are big too. We made this work, believe us.

We noticed this notice in Wrangell. We like cookies but were not able to cash in on the reward.
Even so, we hope that Bunny Foo Foo finds her way home.

Roma enjoys her well equipped and well laid-out galley. But the view.... oh my.
This port-side (left for landlubbers) view is in Endicott Arm.
If you look closely, you can see two icebergs.

Looking aft (back for landlubbers).
